Our Movement

One movement. Two pathways. From children's voices to global action.

Children of World Peace is not only an organisation. It is a growing international movement in which schools give children room to practise peace, and political leaders give their ideas a place where decisions are made.

Why we exist

Children are not only the future of peace. They are part of creating it today.

We want to strengthen children's skills, courage and belief that they can help create peace — between people, in their communities and across borders. Peace is created through conversation about peace and about what challenges it, and through the conscious choice to seek, strengthen and choose peace.

Pathway 1

Global School Movement

Empowering children and connecting schools worldwide.

Every school can become a starting point for peace. Peace Schools practise peace in everyday life, mark Peace Day together and invite other schools to join.

Pathway 2

Political Engagement

Bringing children's voices into the places where decisions are made.

Political leaders are invited to listen to children, support dialogue and turn children's ideas for peace into action.

How the two pathways meet

A movement that strengthens itself

Schools give the movement its legitimacy, knowledge and international reach. Political relationships make sure children's perspectives can have influence. Each step feeds the next.

How the movement grows A cycle of five stages: Schools, Children's Voices, Political Dialogue, Real-World Action and More Schools, which leads back to the start. One movement two pathways Schools Children's Voices Political Dialogue Real-World Action More Schools
Global School Movement Where the pathways meet Political Engagement
  1. More schools join the movement as Peace Schools — free of charge.
  2. More children work with peace and develop their own perspectives, questions and ideas.
  3. Children's perspectives are gathered and carried forward — safely and with consent.
  4. Political leaders are invited to listen, enter into dialogue and take concrete action.
  5. Results and experiences are shared across the international network.
  6. New schools and political leaders join — and the cycle grows stronger.
Where we are today

Ambitious — and honest about where we stand

Children of World Peace is a new initiative. We keep a clear line between what we believe, what we have established, what we are working on and what we hope to achieve.

We believe

  • Peace begins among the world's children.
  • Every child has the right to peace, equal worth and to be heard.
  • Peace is created in conversation — and it is a choice.
  • Children's perspectives belong where decisions are made.

Established

  • The manifesto and the core principle: seek, strengthen and choose peace.
  • Draft statutes for an independent, member-based association.
  • A draft child safeguarding policy.
  • This website, with Peace School sign-up by email.

Working on now

  • Founding the association in Ebeltoft, Denmark.
  • Welcoming the first Peace Schools in several countries.
  • Preparing the first global Peace Day on 21 September 2027.
  • Inviting the first political leaders to The Children's Peace Pledge.

Aiming for

  • A fast-growing international network of Peace Schools.
  • Children's Peace Goals offered as input to the United Nations in 2028.
  • An international Political Ambassadors programme.
  • UN consultative status and a foundation for long-term independence.

International dialogue

The Road to the United Nations

Our ambition is to bring children's voices and practical experiences of peacebuilding into international dialogue.

Through school partnerships, child-led initiatives and engagement with political leaders, we aim to build the evidence and relationships needed to contribute to relevant United Nations forums.

Long-term ambition

Children of World Peace is an independent initiative in development. UN engagement is a long-term ambition; no UN affiliation or endorsement is currently claimed.
