Global School Movement

Every school can become a starting point for peace.

Schools are not only places where children learn about peace. They are places where children develop, test and practise it. Join as a Peace School — free, simple and open to schools everywhere.

How it works

Four steps to becoming a Peace School

  1. Join and endorse the manifestoRegister your school below. Membership is free for every school, public, independent or faith-based.
  2. Mark Peace DayEvery year on 21 September, all Peace Schools mark their participation with a shared activity.
  3. Work with the Peace GoalsChildren explore what peace takes and contribute to the Children's Peace Goals.
  4. Share and inviteShare your peace projects and invite three more schools to join the movement.

What a Peace School does

  • Creates conversations about peace — and about what can challenge it — in class, across year groups and with families.
  • Gives children a real voice, including the chance to take part in the Children's Council and the Peace Goals.
  • Takes part in international peace activities with partner schools in other countries.
  • Keeps children safe by following our child safeguarding principles in every activity.

What your school receives

  • The Peace School badge for your entrance, website and materials.
  • A place on the world map of Peace Schools, once your registration is confirmed.
  • Ideas and materials for peace conversations, Peace Day and the Peace Goals.
  • Partner schools in other countries for letters, video meetings and joint projects.
  • A channel to political leaders, so children's ideas can reach decision-makers.

Coming Network growth over time — a chart of the movement will appear here once there is data to show.

One School Invites Three

Help the movement grow — invite three schools.

Every Peace School is encouraged to invite three more schools: a neighbour, a partner abroad and a school that is very different from your own. It is a voluntary way to grow the movement, never a membership requirement.

When one school invites three, and each of them invites three more, peace spreads from school to school across borders.
